Artist Statement:

For this assignment, I focused on various shadows and reflections in my photography to show contrast and emotion. My shadows consisted of a pattern of pillars and their shadows from the Boston Aquarium and the sun casting light through the trees, creating a shadow behind the trees. I chose to make the pattern pillar picture black and white to really emphasize the contrast in the photo. MY reflections consist of the beginning of fall trees reflecting on bodies of water, Gabe Silva being seen through an art room mirror and coffee being elongated by a mirror on the counter. I edited them to have a higher saturation. I feel like I struggled with finding reflections that were not with a body of water but I overcame that by using a mirror in the classroom. My favorite piece would have to be the reflection of the sky seen through a dirt puddle because I like have you can see the bottom of the body of water and there is a sense of realness to the picture,
