For this project I used the slab technique to make a formative cup, them later on make a set of slab cups. I created a broun cup to practice my technique and a set of four cups to give as a gift. To make the cups I rolled out slabs and cut to my desired height. I imprinted some lace on the sides of my cups for design and allowed all of my slabs to overlap when I rolled them up. I rolled them around a tennis ball container with newspaper to get the perfect circumference. My handles, also cut from slabs, differed greatly from a curled up end, a full loop, a C shape to no handle at all. I glazed the set of four cups multicolor because I thought the colors would go together, and I am pleased as to how they turned out. One thing I struggled with was my handles because they kept falling off or being too fragile, and I was aiming for functional cups. Overall, I like how the glazes turned out and enjoyed making something I was proud of giving.
