Jelly Prints

For my jelly print, the ideas evident in my work is that we had to make sure that there were empty spaces in the contour drawing, showing that we know what that is. This project relates to my life because the leaves were recycled, as they were taken off of the ground and not picked off of trees.

The materials I used to make this project was gel ink, a gelli printing plate, a brayer, paper, and a gel pen.

To create my work of art I first placed leaves on the jelly printing plate and rolled it over with ink and placed the paper on top of it to create an empty space printing, then removed the leaves and printed that to make another printing to get the fine details, then printed it again one more to get the “ghost” printing. We repeated this two more times to get a total of nine prints. We then chose one print and “extended’ it. I chose to add detail and patterns with a gel pen. My project evolved by first creating my prints the choosing one to put more effort and time into. My next step could be to add color to my extended jelly print other than the ink.
