For this project I needed to create three pinch pot pieces, one of which had to have a base on a pinch pot. I created a planter (with holes), a drainage plate, and a piggy bank for my summative. I learned the pinch pot technique and first applied it to the planter and plate, creating a set. I glazed it with the image of a watermelon in my mind, as the outside is green and the inside is a reddish color. After that I made a more complex piece by putting numerous pinch pots together for my piggy bank, which I feel prepared me for my pinch pot summative later on. I mixed underglazes to get the pink color and overglazed my piece clear after it was fired. I am happy with my pieces because I got my piggy bank to stand which was something I was worried about and I like how my planter is functional. I struggled with the piggy bank's ears and legs, carefully attaching them as I didn't want them to fall off in the kiln. Overall, I am satisfied with my pieces.
