Artist Statement 

The main idea of the negative space leaved piece was drawing the outline of the leaves then filling in the outer white negative space with something. I decided to watercolor paint the whole negative space a sky blue then draw hot air balloons once the paint dried. 

I used a lot of different materials for this project I used sharpie, hb pencil, gel pen, & watercolor. I used watercolor for the blue sky, then pencil to draw the leaves. Once i drew the leaves I outlined them multiple times along with the border with all different pens & sharpies. 

The first step I took in this project was making the outlines of the border a light lines on my paper so I the leaves I had to draw were put in a better perspective. After I drew the leaves with detail I outlined them with sharpie. After the leaves were outlined & bold the first thing I did with the negative space was use watercolor & paint it blue which then resembled the sky. Then over the blue I drew small hot air balloons within the negative space with HB pencil then outlined them with pen. Lastly I added final small details & made the border very dark, bold & thick.
