Linoleum Prints

The main idea that guided these stamps was simplicity and nature. This is what drove me to create my design. I wanted something relatable, like camping, simple like mountains, and nature like the sky, water, and hills. I had to 50/50 black and white, so the sky was black, stars were white, mountains were white, and then the outlines of the lake and cabin were black. Another thing that guided these linoleum prints was total perfection. I had to redo them over and over again, so they would look how I wanted.

The materials I used were roller, ink, stamp, linoleum, carving tool, and a press.

The process to create this started with brainstorming. I had two original designs, both similar but different. They still each had mountains, lakes, and a cabin, they were just arranged differently. I chose my design featured above because of the simplicity, and how it was 50/50. Then the printing process begun. I rolled out the ink on the print, and place paper on it to press. I repeated this process many time, adding color, and different materials.
