Painting of Surrealist Collage

For this art project we were instructed to first, make a collage and then paint it for our final paint mixing summative. For my collage I chose Feminism because I wanted my collage to have a purpose, or subject to it. I chose feminism because I wanted to pick a current issue that has been an issue for over 200 years. I chose certain words that I thought described strong women. I loved making my collage, and creating my idea, before painting it, with a new material. As you can see, I have modified my collage for my painting, to save time. I liked this project so much because I feel like I was able to put some of my own voice within my art work, more than usual. Painting this collage was really hard because I really had to pay attention to the little details in my collage. I think the hardest part was matching all the fonts. It took a long time, however, I am really happy with the way they turned out. Overall, I am very happy with my final result because I feel as though I did a really good job paying attention to the little details, especially matching the font, and I matched the colors really well too. If I could change anything about my artwork to improve it I would, take more time to do the backgrounds for each word because that would have added a lot more to my painting. I would also spend a little bit more time blending my background, but other wise I am very happy with my project!
