Creative color design

For this art project we had to paint 84 colors using tints and shades. For my project I came up with idea to have a juggler on a unicycle juggle three balls—the primary colors. My design developed to having a total of 5 balls, I added orange and green two out of three of the secondary colors. I wanted my juggler to be in a spotlight, so I used my tints and shades of yellow to create the spotlight affect. For my third primary color, purple, I decided to use it as the background that the spotlight was not on. This also helped split up the negative space in my painting. I wanted my juggler to be a silhouette, so my colors could shine in the foreground and background. For materials I used a canvas and acrylic paint. I think the hardest part about this project was mixing the paint, only because it was really time consuming, and and painting the foreground after the background was already painted. this was hard for me because I had to pay a lot of attention to how big my brush strokes were. Overall, I am really happy with the way my painting turned out. I was really excited about my idea, but I was nervous I wouldn't be able to create the vision in my head. I was able to create my idea the way I wanted to and so overall, I am very happy with the end result.
