Linear Perspective

For this unit we learned how to draw using linear perspective. Linear perspective is used to design building for example like an architect or even an interior designer. First, we focused on the basic shapes. Every line is straight, horizontal, or connects to the vanishing point in linear perspective. Then, we moved on the spacing of the rooms. for me this was the hardest part about the unit because the lines had to be very exact, so they looked realistic. For me the hardest part of the room was the ceiling and floors. I struggled with getting the size and angles right. Last, we used shapes to create furniture. I think that this was the coolest part that you could turn a 2D rectangle into a 3D window. One thing I learned about this project was that you always had to make sure that everything was connected to the vanishing point and then closed with a vertical or horizontal line. In the end result of my summative for this unit I was really proud of the skills I applied in my hallway. If I were to change one thing about my project I would have put more details and texture into the walls. I was pretty happy with the overall outcome for this unit considering it was the first time I had ever drawn using linear perspective.
