Course Description: Ever wondered how laser engravers turn ordinary materials into stunning custom designs? In this two-part introductory course, you’ll unlock the secrets of laser engraving and explore the endless creative possibilities!
In Part One (on-campus), we’ll break down the basics—how laser engravers work, the different types (from compact home models to high-powered machines), and the variety of materials you can etch, cut, and engrave. We’ll also cover essential safety tips and dive into exciting project ideas, from personalized gifts to intricate artwork. This session will feature smaller lasers in action creating designs on jewelry and keychains.
Then, for those who want to see big machines in action, Part Two (optional) offers a visit to a workshop with larger laser engravers at work—perfect for those thinking about scaling up their skills!
