Curious about printing a 3D object? • Ever wanted to try? • In this class you get to do that and more!
We'll explore the free sources of 3D objects' ready-to-print files and there are lots and lots of them ranging from pencil/pen holders to cool geometric objects to phone stands to flowers to... We'll cover how to do modifications of the object you choose, prepare to print your object and then print!
Southwestern has two 3D printers - an Ultimaker 3 Extended filament printer and a Form 2 liquid resin printer. These two printers are high-end, fantastic, easy to use, and are available to anyone in the SU community. And, as an added benefit of this class, you will receive training and then "certification" to use the printer(s) on your own!
You are welcome to bring your laptop with you to class - a Chromebook or tablet will not work. If you choose to bring your laptop, please download and install prior to our first class two free applications available at:
Cura - ultimaker.com/en/products/ultimaker-cura-software
Preform - formlabs.com/tools/preform
We will also be using Chrome browser and if that is not already on your laptop, please install that as well.
