It's All Up in the Air!

Beginner Juggling!
Spend one session or come all 3 weeks to have fun, laugh, be amazed, and learn the relaxing sensation (ok, maybe frustrating sensation) of juggling! By the end of the session you probably won't be able to juggle battle axes, knives, or bowling pins, but for sure you will pick up juggling 3 bean bags! (We will have Ibuprofen and an ER nurse on site -jk!)
Materials: If you would like to bring 3 clean socks rolled up into balls you are welcome to do so. Otherwise, we will have items on hand for you to practice with.
For Those About to Shock!: Basic Household and Home Electricity
Instructor: Shorty Schwartz, Sr. Manager of Facilities Operations
Time: 4:30pm-5:30pm
Days: Wednesdays, May 25th, June 1st, & June 8th (3 class sessions)
Class Size: 10 people per session
Ease your fear of electricity in the household. We will show how to change out or swap outlets, switches, ceiling fans, etc. simply by turning off a switch or a breaker. With the USB/ duplex outlets now available, it's a great time to learn how to do this. I will show what basic tools you will need in house to accomplish these tasks and how to do all this in a safe manner. Material for this course will be the same each week so participants can opt to attend only one or all three sessions.
Learn to Crochet
Instructor: Jennifer Spiller, Family Nurse Practitioner & Health Services Manager
Time: 4:30pm-5:30pm
Days: Monday - Friday, May 23rd-May 27th only (5 class session for one week)
Class Size: 15 people
We will learn the basics of crochet and begin by making a simple dishcloth. I will bring hooks and yarn for the first project. After that, we will learn to read crochet patterns and I will have simple patterns available. We will meet as a group and I will be available to help troubleshoot and teach as needed.
Materials: You will be provided with one (1) crochet hook and 1 skein of yarn (assorted colors to choose from).

Do you have family or friends with high school-aged children? Do you often wonder how to talk about Southwestern with them? The Office of Admission will offer tips and talking points that all SU community members can use to "sell" Southwestern to prospective students/families.
Cash Course: The Basics of Personal Finance

Class Size: 20 people
Cash Course will take you through the basics of personal financial management. Topics covered will include savings, budgeting, credit, and debt repayment strategies. Participants will have the chance to interact and ask questions and will be given practical ways to manage their money. We will not be going over investing or retirement planning in detail, but we will touch on these briefly.
High as a Creative Cloud: How the Adobe Apps Can Help You

Learn how to use basic functions of the Adobe Creative Cloud software that's available for all of us! We'll learn about basic functions in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Audition and show you how you can start your own creative projects for fun! Come get started adding a fun new skill to your skillset.

Learn how to protect yourself and your family from predators, scam artists, hoaxers, phishers, con artists, and spammers. Learn how to safely navigate the internet, retain your privacy, and protect your identity. And learn how to best protect your computer from being attacked or infected.
