Course description: Come join the absolute fun of learning the basics of the beauty of the French language. The class will be very spirited and upbeat. The emphasis will be on speaking and reciting out loud in class. Class will meet twice a week in Mood Bridwell. Time and dates are up to the members of the class. The last few years we have met late afternoon on Tuesdays and Thursdays, but the schedule will be flexible. The emphasis is on finding "les bons temps" with lots of laughs.

(GIMP, Picasa, Kompozer, etc.) Class time will provide plenty of hands-on activities. Feel free to bring your own images on a CD or flash drive. As part of the class, you will use and learn free open-source alternatives to popular commercial software.

Course description: If you are interested in learning anything (or a bit more) about "the most influential cultural figure alive," according to novelist and NEWSWEEK cultural reporter David Gates, this is the class for you. We'll take quick overviews of a few of the key phases of Bob Dylan's long-running and prolific career. We'll listen to a lot of music, see a few film clips, and maybe even read the first volume of his autobiography together. There will be no pressure, writing assignments, or exams because, in the words of Dylan, we "know too much to argue or to judge." Hopefully, however, there will be some good times and conversations.
