Learn how to crochet, and in particular, crochet hyperbolic planes that look like coral! You'll learn a little about the history of the crochet model for hyperbolic space as well as a little about other mathematical models and their influences on artists like Barbara Hepworth, Marcel Duchamp and Man Ray. You'll learn how to crochet the circular pattern as well as the line. If you like the hyperbolic crochet coral reef exhibit that was in the library this past Spring semester, come take this class!
Participants are asked to bring yarn and a crochet hook slightly larger than the yarn. If you don't have those, there will be a bunch of extra yarn and hooks available to use.
Two sessions taken in order.
