為了這天的到來,我們準備很久囉!
The Kagoshima Prefecture Board of Education takes 7 students to visit Taiwan. They visit Sanmin Junioe School on 30th Sep. to 2nd Oct.
Day 1
The first day, Sanmin's students are very excited. We welcome them with hand names boards. Everyone is so happy to see each other.
We set the morning tea with Taiwanese famous cookies, like Wan Wan senbai, Noodle oodles and pinepalle cakes. Everyone eats the cookies with iced black tea.
After the welcome party, Japanese students are going to study with Sanmin's friends in their own classrooms. They might not understand what the teachers teach, but the partners in the class will help them.
Lunch time is another wonderful period. The Japanese students say the lunches in Taiwan school are delicious.
The Japanese students leave Sanmin at 3:10 pm. Students say goodbye to each other, although it's just a day, they are already good friends!
Day 2
A Day of Classroom Immersion and a Bubble Tea Treat
On the second day of our exchange program with students from Kagoshima, Japan, the visiting students once again joined our classes for an immersive learning experience. They participated in lessons alongside our students, gaining insights into the Taiwanese education system and classroom culture.
However, with the typhoon approaching and concerns about potential school closures on the third day, we decided to treat our guests to a special surprise: a cup of bubble tea for each student! The Japanese students were delighted to try this famous Taiwanese drink, adding a fun and memorable moment to their day.
As we continue to monitor the weather, we hope to conclude this exchange program with the same warmth and hospitality that has defined their visit so far.

Typhoon Doesn’t Stop Us: Online Farewell Ceremony for Japanese Students
Due to the approaching typhoon, the third day of our exchange program with students from Kagoshima, Japan, had to be cancelled. However, this did not dampen our spirits! Instead, we quickly adapted and hosted an online farewell ceremony, ensuring the exchange ended on a memorable note.
The event began with a group photo, capturing the smiles of both our students and their Japanese counterparts.Following the photo session, here comes the KAHOOT game. Tr Eric and Vickie host the Kahoot game for us. You should try to answer the questions about Sanmin's School life.
The Japanese students shared their reflections on the past days, expressing their gratitude for the meaningful experiences. A student performs Japanese traditional dancing, a girl shows her Korean language learning results, and one sings a famous Japanese pop song. To add to the excitement, one student performed a lively rendition of the dance "Friday Night," which energized everyone and brought a celebratory atmosphere to the event.
After the performances, we divided into smaller discussion groups, allowing each class to engage in heartfelt conversations with their Japanese partners. This provided an opportunity for students to reflect on their shared experiences and deepen the friendships formed over the course of the exchange.
Mr. Miyanowaki, the instructional supervisor of Kagoshima Prefecture BOE, writes a letter to Sanmin students and staffs. He wants to express their deepest gratitude to us.
Although we could not meet in person for the farewell, the online ceremony was filled with warmth, joy, and unforgettable memories. We look forward to future opportunities for our students to reconnect with their Japanese friends and continue building international bonds. 🌏🇯🇵🇹🇼
