Vector images have a smaller file size, making them easier to share or store
Vector files do not need to be edited using photo editing software.
Vector files can be saved with transparent backgrounds, allowing them to be placed on different backgrounds.

The CAD technician frequently uses the dxf file format when saving CAD drawings. a. Explain why dxf is a suitable format for CAD drawings. DXF may need to be accessed, viewed and or referenced by an application that is not capable of opening other file types
Many applications can open a DXF file as it a commonly used file format.
The type of information being conveyed is 2D line work and text, and is the type of information that a DXF is designed to handle
DXF is a vector graphic and so can be scaled without losing quality

Describe two advantages of exporting the logo shown in the vector format, as opposed to raster. (2 marks)b. State the name of a vector file extension in which the logo could be exported. (1 mark)

Answers

You can scale them without pixelation
They are easy to edit in the DTP software, such as the background colour, text colour, and line colour.
Transparency can easily be applied to the background.
Vector graphics have a smaller file size than raster graphics.
