Menu tech
"did anyone know that pressing left trigger in the equips menu, specifically the accessories menu, will move your cursor to the unequip button" - contributed by Mill
Flower Jump Setup
If you run straight up into the wall and then hold up/right, you'll get stuck on the flower. From there you can just jump up and you'll never hit the Goomba.

Bandit's Way star - 20 dogs
The movement here is pretty tight, so you'll need to practice it a bit. The idea is to take out the first three slow moving dogs, and then move onto the fourth one, intercepting as many fast dogs as possible on your way to the exit. Stand in front of the exit so that incoming dogs always hit you, and fast dogs coming from the other side can find their way toward you.
Hopefully, the RNG of the fourth dog's movement will be favourable and it'll be toward you, so you have time to knock it out and intercept a fast dog running toward you that has just appeared.
If the fourth dog is moving away from you, you likely won't be able to quickly hit the fast dogs like this, so you probably won't end up with 20. A fast dog coming from the other entrance will sometimes get stuck on the bushes and never collide with you. Don't reset over that, just move on to the next room if you get at least 16. (Getting 20 will save you a little bit of time in the future by syncing up your party's levelups.)

Skip the first Claymorton cutscene
You can skip a big chunk of the Claymorton pre-battle sequence by jumping past the first event loading zone.

Moleville Mines star movement
You can run in a straight line through the last four bombs instead of turning around.

Minecart
Watch this video for an idea of what an optimal minecart looks like. Includes a major section skip.

Avoid the checkerboard fireballs
This uses the same danger zones as in the SNES game.

Skip the first chomp in Booster Tower
It's tricky, but you can just barely jump onto the first step without colliding with the first chomp. When the room loads, do a full jump northeast, but release your D pad right as you land on the step. You must then jump to the right immediately, because you'll get into a battle if the chomp starts moving.
The other chomps can be avoided fairly easily after this.
Quick platforming up to the FC chest
Walk up into the corner, jump then quickly hold right.

Free Booster Hill flower
You can sometimes score an additional flower by hugging the left wall.
So far, it potentially could be a timing/music cue of grabbing the last possible flower that you can from Peach before the final 8-10 seconds of the minigame (any lower than roughly 7-8 seconds and Booster will usually escape fast enough from his sprint to the sign)
Also the position of where you reach Peach seems to matter, roughly ranging from the middle to right side of the hill. Any more to the left and he'll get away also.

Get past the lower Greaper
You can use this setup to always bypass the Greaper fight on the lower level of the Sunken Ship puzzle area.

Clone room movement
Here is how you can move in the Sunken Ship clone room to get the Croaka Cola without messing up your synchronization with the clone.

Avoiding the upper starfish
The movement here is very precise, but you can get around the starfish at the top of this staircase in the Sunken Ship.

Fast Land's End Bridge
You can run on the edge instead of doing the slower bridge autojumps.

Fortune Skip
Go to the corner, then walk (don't dash) by tapping up for about ~2-3 frames. Start running northwest, and jump very late when you approach the wall to get on the shaman's head (he will force you off if you don't do this precisely). Then, jump onto the statue's notes. This saves you 50 coins and a big chunk of time time if you can do it consistently.

Fan Skip
The fan can either start blowing after 0.5 or 1.5 seconds. Wait till you see the fan is definitely not going to do the fast one, then run past it.

Corkpedite Skip (low level only)
You can jump over the Corkpedite by running away from an encouter with it, or you can run underneath it when it raises itself into the air.

Skip the first Stumpet
.The fastest (but more difficult) way to do this is to face up-right and then jump to the right, but this must be done precisely.
An easier way to do it is to use pause buffering. Open a menu, hold down left, and start mashing B to jump around the stumpet in a different direction, then you can walk around it by getting close to the edge.
Fast Volcano bridge
Just delay ever so slightly, then book it.

Bowser's Keep damage boost
With how slow the platforms are, it might be faster to fall off immediately on the 2nd platform to be warped to its starting position when the room reloads, which is near the end of the room.

Get through the DK room without too much waiting
The important part is waiting for that 1 barrel to go overhead and it's really easy to jump after.

Factory Bowyer room movement
You can avoid every encounter in the room by hugging walls on the conveyor belts and having crisp D-pad inputs near the axems.
