33. Bowser's Keep
Screen Two<< Previous | Next >>
Getting There
Head to the Nimbus Land throne room to repair the bus, then take the bus to the Keep.
When you get there, turn around and head over to Mario’s Pad immediately.
Door Manipulation
Save at the Save Block.
Reset your game.
Load the save data you just saved.
Now be careful with this: Only hold DOWN while running until Mario runs and clips into the green bushes.
After running into the bushes, change your directional to Down-Right, then head back to Bowser's Keep.
Check the below instructions for details on this manipulation.
Screen One
Same as the intro, nothing in the first screen.
Screen Two
Very similar to the intro, except there are stronger red terrapins now (and a few more of them).
You want to move up a bit to avoid most of them and jump over the ones that get in your way.
Screen Three
Also similar to the intro, except there are goombas this time.
Stay to the top edge and jump over the goombas as you go.
And the end, you need to jump over some platforms instead of running across a bridge like the intro.
Screen Four (Throne Room 1)
Same as the intro, except there are some flying troopas to avoid this time.
When you get to the end, you need to enter the door shaped like Bowser's mouth (I think?).
Screen Five (Dark Room)
This is a new screen. Make your way to the right in the dark, avoiding the enemies as best you can.
At the right edge, there are two goombas waiting to ambush you. You need jump over the first one, but don't jump for the second one. He'll jump too far right into the pit.
Screen Six (Save Point)
Save at the save point in front of Croco just in case you messed up the door manipulation, and proceed to the six doors.
If you did the manipulation correctly, the doors for action and puzzles should be 1,2,4, and 5.
Door 1 Puzzle Door 1
Topper Quiz
Do the quiz.
Guess the Barrels
Count the barrels.
Triathlon Race
Boo (ghost) Goo (Gomba) Bones (skeleton) and Kipp (fish).
They will be randomly assigned a quote from the race, depending on the quote they get will determine which place they took in the race.
If they get the following quote, they will get the respective place in the race as follows:
“I outrode X on my bike, and X was never able to pass me” = FIRST PLACE
“I fell into 4th place during the bike race..” = SECOND PLACE
“I placed the same in swimming and cycling” = THIRD PLACE
“I came in third for swimming” = FOURTH PLACE
Check which quote they get, write it down who got what place if you need to, and finish this door.
Get the Rock Candy from the chest on your way out.
Door 2 Puzzle Door 2
21 Coin Box
End on coin 15 yourself to guarantee a win, end on coin 10 to get there.

Platform Switches
Simply make your way straight across, don't worry about any of the chests.

Avoid the barrels and get to the top.
Door 5 Action Door 2
Lava and Platforms
Jump across the platforms.
On the last platform, go all the way up, and jump to the left, and run along the top and grab the KeroKeroCola, then run back and jump down to the exit door.
Ball and Bob-omb Room
Roll along the ball, go to the middle platform to the right, grab the Rock Candy.
Go to the last platform in the middle, grab the flower.
From this last platform, you can actually jump directly to the door without using the ball.
Long Platform Lava Room
Grab the first chest along the bottom for a flower. Keep going and grab the Royal Syrup.
Keep going and grab the KeroKeroCola from the chest right by the door.

If eye is dead, and protection is down, have Geno use Geno Whirl on the top part (Exor), and time it for 9999 damage. If any of this fails, have Peach use Group Hug.
If you miss time the Geno Whirl, have Peach Group Hug and try again.
