Alice Margaret Denton 1917-1986

Alice Margaret Denton was born at Harrow 17 January 1917, Victoria. A simple country life was hers, being raised in a small home with one sister and 2 brothers attending the school which nestled atop the hill behind their four roomed house. The carefree times passed and while she was working at a property in Pidgeon Ponds, she was befriended by a lady she from then on, called Nana Brown. The pair of them travelled to Melbourne and lived together at South Yarra.

At the age of 24, she married Henry (Harry) James Ball (1905-1986) at Prahan on 28 November 1942. Elsie died 23 April 1986 just 3 weeks after her husband's death. They were buried at Springvale (Melbourne).

Harry, who was one to tell many a joke or story, told how he changed his name when he was working on a property where there was already too many Henry's. He worked for the Prahan Council, and they had 7 children.

Regretably, I have no further information about the life and times of Thomas Denton and his wife Eileen or their family..
