કેવી બદલાઈ ગઈ છે જિંદગી...

સમી સાંજે હું ઑફિસમાં છું, બેઠો છું વિચારું છું,

કેવી બદલાઈ ગઈ છે જિંદગી આ જિંદગી મારી

સદા ખાલી હતાં ખિસ્સા, ભરાયાં-ઊભરાયાં એ ઘણા મોટાં પગારોથી

    નજાણે કેમ એ આપી શકે ના સૌ મજાઓ-મસ્તીઓ લાવી

ઘસાયેલાં પૂરાણા જિન્સ ને બદલે છે બ્રાન્ડેડ વૉર્ડરોબ ભર્યાં

    નજાણે પહેરવા એ સૌ પડે ઓછાં જ ઘરમાં માણસો સઘળાં

સમોસાનીય અર્ધી પ્લેટ રહી ગઈ ક્યાં ને કયાં આવ્યાં બર્ગર-પિત્ઝા

    નજાણે ભૂખ ક્યાં ખોવાઈ ગઈ, ખૂટી પડી, ભૂલાઈ ગઈ ક્યારે

સમી સાંજે હું ઑફિસમાં છું, બેઠો છું વિચારું છું,

કેવી બદલાઈ ગઈ છે જિંદગી આ જિંદગી મારી

ખખડધજ બાઈક જે રહેતું સદા તરસ્યું, તે શૉફર્ડ કારમાં બદલ્યું

    નજાણે કેમ ફરવાની જગ્યાઓ બંધ થઈ કે દૂર ચાલી ગઈ

ગઈ એ સાહ્યબી અડધી મસાલા ચા તણી જ્યારે મળી કૉફી,

    નજાણે કેમ લારી જાય છે ચાની વધુ આઘી અને આઘી

હતાં ફાંફાં પ્રિપેઈડ કાર્ડ નેતૉયે કદી ખૂટતી ન'તી વાતો

    નજાણે કેમ સૌ આ પોસ્ટપેઈડ ફૉન પર મેસેજ છોડે છે

સમી સાંજે હું ઑફિસમાં છું, બેઠો છું વિચારું છું,

કેવી બદલાઈ ગઈ છે જિંદગી આ જિંદગી મારી

વિમાનોની સવારી એટલી સ્હેલી કે ટ્રેનો જોગ ના ખાશે

    નજાણે કેમ એ લાંબા મજાના માનીતાં વૅકેશનો વિતી ગયાં

અસેમ્બલ્ડ ડેસ્કટૉપ ગયું આવ્યું મજાનું લેપટોપ સારી બ્રાન્ડનું

    હવે મળતો નથી વખત કે એને કોઈ ચાલૂ કરી બેસે ઘડી

ઘણાં મિત્રો બન્યા સહકાર્યકર ને તેથી ઊલટું પણ થયું 

    છતાં ઘડિયાળ ને કાંટે આઠ જોઈ લાગ્યા કરે મૉડું થયું

સમી સાંજે હું ઑફિસમાં છું, બેઠો છું વિચારું છું,

કેવી બદલાઈ ગઈ છે જિંદગી આ જિંદગી મારી

How it changed from a maverick collage life to strict professional life

How tiny pocket money changed to huge monthly paychecks

    but then why it gives lesss happiness 

How a few local denim jeans changed to new branded wardrobe

    but then why there are less people to use them

How a single plate of samosa changed to a full Pizza or burger

    But then why there is less hunger

Here I am sitting in my office @ night

How a bike always in reserve changed to bike always on

    but then why there are less places to go on

How a small coffee shop changed to cafe coffeeday

    but then why its feels like shop is far away

How a limited prepaid card changed to postpaid package

    but then why there are less calls & more messages

How a general class journey changed to Flight journey

    But then why there are less vacations for enjoyment

How a old assembled desktop changed to new branded laptop

    but then why there is less time to put it on

How a small bunch of friends changed to office mate

    but then why after 8 o'clock it always feel like getting late
