3. Custom Calculations and Fields

Create a calculated field

Analysis -> Create Calculated Field

Create a calculated field on shelf

Create the calculated field either on columns or rows
Drag to "Measures" and rename it

Add a table calculation

Right click "Measures Attribute" on the marks -> Add Table Calculation
"Difference From" refers to calculate the current value as a difference from the previous value

Level of detail expressions

Calculate the detail expression to find the difference between total sales and average total sales

Create calculation in the dialog box

Right click the attribute on the row or column field shelf
Apply "filter" -> "Condition" -> "By formula"
