Remembering Our Readers and Why We Must Honor Them by Writing for Their Benefit

Whenever Mr. Lundahl writes an essay in English, it’s absolutely important that he recognizes the diversity of our readers. This means that he must either use proper 21st century American or British spellings, identify obscure Roman Catholic personalities, appropriately cite his references and write clearly so that at least an intelligent 12-year-old can have a reasonably good idea about what he is saying. Unfortunately, Lundahl (2022a-p) often fails to meet these minimal and reasonable requirements. Instead, Mr. Lundahl prefers to show off his knowledge of Latin and largely irrelevant Greco-Roman mythology.

We should expect that are readers would be individuals in the age range of 12 to 90+ years old. They would include people that haven’t yet or have never graduated from high school, as well as individuals with high school, associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s and/or doctorates or the equivalents. Our readers could include physicists, students, journalists, professors, engineers, plumbers, farmers, police officers, military personnel, artists, clergy, medical doctors, biologists, construction workers, homemakers and any other occupation. They would include young-Earth creationists, old-Earth creationists, theistic evolutionists, atheists, agnostics, Jews, Muslims, Roman Catholics, Protestants, Mormons, Orthodox Christians, Buddhists, and many others. Most of all, most of our readers are probably not going to be Roman Catholic and they may not automatically recognize Mr. Lundahl’s frequent references to obscure theologians and Roman Catholic doctrines (e.g., Henke 2022g; Henke 2022h).

The political views of our readers are also likely to be diverse and would include conservatives, liberals, libertarians, anarchists, socialists, communists, populists, moderates and other representatives from across the political spectrum. Most of our readers would probably be native English speakers, but they could also include some non-native speakers, whose abilities would range from fluent in English to novices. It’s important that Mr. Lundahl write to meet the needs of as many of the members of our audience as possible. Again, he has often failed to do so, especially when he expects his readers to understand Latin (e.g., Lundahl 2022k; Lundahl 2022i) or know the day of the month by the identity of the Roman Catholic saint (e.g., Lundahl 2022d).
