Latch Adjustment

Difficulty: 1/5

Time to install: 5 mins

Tools Required: Fingers or small wrench

If your latches aren't holding down your hardtop or softtop tightly enough (or they're too tight), they can be adjusted.

Open the latch. Find the hexagon-shaped knob.

There is a small plastic cover that locks the adjustment knob in place. It's friction fit and hinged, pull it out - be careful - it's plastic, and if you've purchased an older hardtop, it's possible the plastic is brittle. If it breaks, it's not critical, but does keep the knob from turning (and loosening your latches!).

Simply twist the knob to shorten or lengthen the latch's spring mechanism. You'll probably have to try a few times to get it just right.
