Please read carefully:
From sunday June 26th to July 10th use Normal or Basic* Jpeg (if you use a D5)
Nikon made a very good job with the new jpeg algorithm. The new Jpeg Basic* is really very good even compare to Fine.
1/ ADJUST THE TIME & DATE of your cameras VERY pricesely (setup menu/time zone and date) according to this link: UTC CLOCK
2/ The file names of each of your cameras must be different: Exemple for John Doe : JD1,JD2 and JD3 (shooting menu/File naming)
3/ Before the event, you have to prepare the FTP profiles of your cameras and your laptop (for the trainings). We have prepared brand new channels, you won't use your usual ones.
With the Nikon D5 the FTP should be "passive" OFF !!!!
For other cameras, 1DX, 1DX2 , D4, D4s, it should be "passive" ON
There is no "path"

4/ Remote cameras: You should find at least one lan cable behind each goal
The D5 and the D4s associated to a pocket wizard allow to trigger the remote camera only when necessary (and not every time you shoot) using a second button of the camera. HOW TO . According to my information the Canon 1DX2 have not such an option, so please use external button (ring, pedals,..) ?
We have sent 10 kits, one for each bureau (exactly one for each stadium). Here is the content of the kit:
- 1x Nikon D4
- 1x 20mm
- 2x Pocket wizards + cable + Batteries : Use them in LR only .
- 1x tripod
- 1x Magic arm for the tribune + Locker cable
you can use this kit however you think it has to be used. In the tribune, behind the goal, at your feet, ...
For the remotes installed behind the goal (bottom remotes), you have to use one of this profile depending from which stadium you shoot. Don't forget to set the camera to "Auto-Send", "jpeg only" (Network/options) and call the editors to tell you is shooting.
There are also High positionned remote cameras (Top remotes) in the roofs of Saint Denis, Lyon and Marseille stadiums (powered on 24/24, 7/7)
When you look at the pitch from the press tribune, on the left side pocket-Wizards frequencies are LR-24 and on the right side it is LR-25
if you have to shoot the "Top remote" and the "Bottom remote" in the same time, just adjust the bottom pocket wizard to the same frequencies as the top one.
The best you can do, is before the matches, call each others photographers and editors, to organize and keep each others informed.
