If you use Imovie to edit the vide the produced file is very large
This solution should help you compress the video
HANDBRAKE
1/ Download Handbrake for OSX 10.5 or Above
2/ Optionnal: Install Perian if you don't have it already installed (To play the videos with quicktime player)
3/ Load a video file and tune Handbrake like this:
4/ Then save this profile: Click Toggle presets. Click the "+" Below this window and write "AFP"
To import your movie click on "source". Then on "AFP", then click on "start" to start encoding.
AVIDEMUX (advantage: the file goes straight to AFP-reporter / Slide video channel)
1/ Download and install Avidemux version 2.5.4
With Lion only: To get Avidemux working select avidemux2.app in finder , right click, and show package contents.
Delete the files libxml2.2.dylib and libiconv.2.dylib from the Contents/Resources/lib folder. (source)
2/ Download/ unzip / Avidemux-scripts-4mac.zip
3/ Copy the 3 scripts in /Users/MyMacSession/.avidemux/custom
4/ Open the scripts in Textedit and change the output directory. Go to line 13 and change MyMacSession by the Username you have chosen.
If you don't remember the name, click the apple top-left corner of your screen, Close Session "Username"

You can play the movie with VLC on Mac or PC. With AFP-Reporter on a PC.
( don't forget to make a folder "Webclips To send" on the desktop)

1/ Download this package
To install:
1/ Move "X264Encoder.component" in <Computer>/Library/Quicktime. If you already have this library installed, delete the old one first.
2/ Move "x264-AFP.app" on your Mac desktop
To use:
1/ Drop the movie you need to compress off the "x264-AFP.app" icon.
2/ A window prompts: click "submit" and "submit" again
3/ Wait 2' of encoding for 1' of movie (with a middle range Mac). You will see no working sign on your Mac, during this period of time.
The file will be saved on the desktop.
