Two ways to exclude images from reaching Getty clients :
-XGTY, this is the regular way of preventing pictures we distribute from showing up on Getty images website. But pictures still go to UK and US newpapers that are Getty clients we sed pictures directly to FTP or satellite feeds.
-GETTYOUT, this is to be used in the rare cases were the pictures should not get to any Getty Clients (including the UK and US newspapers such as the NYT, the Guardian or over dailies that are Getty clients we ususally serve directly). It should be used in very specific case
Both tags XGTY and GETTYOUT have to be in the Edit Status IPTC fields without any other caracter in the field to be effective.
DD a client FTP destination:
1- Open the medata editor on any picture (T button in the toolbar or the first option in the right click). It can be a picture on the CMS, the STI or (more convenient if you’re not an editor) a picture on a local folder – this last option will not lock the picture for anyone else.
2- Open the “Destination” tab in the right part of the editor (last tab) (see the Print Screen at the bottom)
3- Right click on “Special destinations > Berlin – Photo (BERPHO)” and select “Add new shared FTP”.
4- Fill in the form (careful : no spaces are allowed in the name of the FTP).
