This page describes a 5 steps tutorial to make collages (combo) using Photoshop and a script called 'Tych Panel'
1st part the Installation and second part the Directions of use
INSTALLATION of the Plugin:
Quit Photoshop.
Download Tych-Panel (with Firefox or Chrome to easily run the Adobe extension manager)
Double-clic tychpanel.zxp to install the plugin. Follow the instructions.
Launch Photoshop, and show the Tych Panel : Window/Extension/Tych Panel
Click 'options' in the Tych Panel
In the Appearance tab set as shown:
Quit photoshop (to save the options)
DIRECTIONS of USE :
in Viewer,Symphonia or any navigator, select the pictures you want to combine and copy them into a new folder. Please remind, the photos must be individually validated before being used in a combo.
For aesthetic reasons, I suggest you to crop the pictures in the same format (24x36, square, etc...) no matter the size of the subject in the photo, you will be able to zoom in it in the collage itself. In Viewer, just right-click while cropping.
Launch Photoshop. Check the Tych-Panel is opened (see Installation: Window/Extension/Tych Panel)
Click the button corresponding to the positions of the photos you want to start with : for exemple 'Top'
Open your folder and select the picture you want to see at the top. I have chosen 2 pictures , I press OK.
You just get the first part of the collage in Photoshop !!
Click the button corresponding to the positions of the photos you want to see following : for my exemple 'Bottom'. I choose 2 pictures from my folder.
You just get the two first parts of the collage.
Click the button corresponding to the positions of the photos you want to see following: for exemple 'Left'
You very easily get this:
As the size and proportion of each pictures are saved you can now zoom in the pictures:
Just clic the thumbnail of the corresponding image you want to crop from the panel Layer.
Please clic ONLY the Dynamic Object thumbnail
(with White&Gray check pattern)
It won't work if you click the black one !!
Hit CTRL+T ('T' like 'transform'). The picture you have selected in 'Layer' is now surrounded by handles you can move.
Pull a corner handle and press 'shift' keystroke in the same time to keep the ratio
Hit 'CTRL' in the same time as you move the picture if the displacement of the picture is jerky.
Repeat with all the necessary pictures and the result is very easily this:
ADVANCED:
If you need to change the white frame position, you can try to move the Mask.
Select the Black thumbnail hit 'Ctrl T' and change the shape of the frame .
Then change the shape of the picture: Select the
hit 'Ctrl T', and change the shape of the picture.
