Before reading this page, You may also need to configure a small wireless router like the MIFI. Read this page if so.
Download, install Nikon WT Setup Utility on your PC.
Connect WT to your camera. Ensure your D4 is turned OFF before connecting the WT-5 device to the camera.
Turn your camera on. Connect it to the computer. .
Launch the Wireless Transmitter Utility program from your desktop. Select the suitable device (If you don’t have any existing profile to load the settings from). If you already have a copy of an existing profile, select load settings file and click next.
Select the hardware (LAN or WT5) or load a settings file
Enter the Profile name and Connection type (mostly 'FTP upload'), click next
Select Manual setup, click next
Type in:
The Network name you will connect to (SSID). It can be the one broadcasted by the MIFI (It is written on the Mifi cover)
Communication mode: Infrastructure
Authentification type: WPA-PSK
Encryption type: TKIP
Encryption key of your WiFi or MiFi (It is written on the Mifi cover)
In TCP/IP settings, keep it as Obtain IP Address Automaticaly. (Unless you need to use Static IP address usually with a lan cable) . Click next
You finally completed the configuration of your WT-5. Select Save Settings or Finish wizard, Click next
Type in a profile name you want to save as for future use, save
To use the WT4 with the D3:
1/ Connect the Wt4 to your camera with the USB cable.
2/ if you use a Huawai switch it on
3/ Switch your camera and WT4 on
4/ In the D3, in the menu "WT4 transmitter" : Check that "Auto-send" is OFF
5/ Still in the menu "WT4 transmitter" choose the ftp profile you have previoulsy recorded.
6/ Edition is made on the Camera:
-in "play" mode just Press Zoom + Center Pad to send the picture you are watching
The Bolt icon goes green then blue when transmission is OK.
Add 3Wireless-xxxx-Modem in SSID or click Search
Complete the following information:
Authentication: WPA-PSK Encryption: TKIP Key: xxxxxxx
Tick: Use passive mode
or Save the file Huawei_1_Web.NIF Huawei_2_Web.NIF
