For example Documents (Franco Swarts) , or GPX Viewer (William Modesitt) etc... If ever you can't manage to download it, you will have to send it as an attachment by email and open it from this mail.
The Z6 - Z6II - Z7 - Z7 II - D6 's Embedded WIFI does not allow direct FTP to Iris. There is a need for an intermediate called ShutterSnitch
Set the wifi time-out
Custom Setting Menu > Timers AE Lock > Standby Timer > ∞
Customize the 'i' button
Switch the camera's wifi ON & make a shortcut to the button "i".
Switch the camera's wifi ON with the shortcut (button "i") then watch the video
Prepare your iPhone
Setting > Battery > Power saving > off
Setting > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock > never
Disconnect the wifi the iphone could be connected to.
Check and set the wi-fi hotspot
Go to Settings > Personal Hotspot / Toggle on "Allow Others to Join" and make note of the Wi-Fi shared network name (SSID) and its password.
Prepare Shuttersnitch
Go to > Options > Settings / Access / FTP port > write 26000 (It sounds weird but that's the way it is, it is not 21 ... )
Open a Collection
Prepare your D5/D6 (with the WT plugged in)
Insert this XQD into your camera
Remove all kinds of times out: Custom Setting Menu > Timers AE lock > c2 Standby Timer > 30m
Copy the configuration file to your camera
Setup Menu > Network ( Wired LAN/WT on the D6) > Network connection (Wired LAN/WT functions on the D6) > Enable
input that profile in your camera
> Choose Hardware > Wireless LAN
> Network settings > Copy from-to card > Copy from Card
Then edit the profile
You will need to enter the SSID of your iPhone and the wifi password you took note (as detailed above), and the FTP pasword (Your personnal Shuttersnitch password)
> Choose ShutterHotspot> Press 🔍- (to edit it)
> Wireless > SSID > Write the iPhone shared network name
> Encryption > Password > iPhone wifi key
> FTP > Password > Enter your ShutterSnitch Password > OK
> Options> Auto Send > Off or On (up to you)
Switch OFF/ON your D5/D6 to save the settings
HOW to USE
The iPhone hotspot works this way
When the hotspot screen Settings > Personal Hotspot is displayed the hotspot starts and stays up (of course "Allow Others to Join" has to be toggled on)
When the hotspot screen is in the background, the hotspot will only stay 90 sec activated then the iOS turns it off if there is no device connected
NOTE: It works differently with the Apple devices by using the Bluetooth to reactivate the hotspot after the 90 sec
Turn on the wi-fi hotspot just showing the screen Settings > Personal Hotspot (You now have 90 seconds to connect your camera)
Run Shuttersnitch & open a collection (and let it displayed)
Switch ON your camera (and your second camera if you need to connect two)
It should now be connected
To send a picture press the two usual buttons OK + Central Selector
Any issues ?
Go back to the hotspot screen of your iPhone and toggle it OFF wait 10 sec and toggle it ON
Make sure that you have opened a Collection in Shuttersnitch
Make sure you entered correctly the SSID and the Passwords, it is case sensitive
Check Shutternitch > Options > / Access / FTP port > 26000
If you want to build your own connection manually, without the ready to use profile it can be very difficult to set properly the Wi-Fi and the FTP but here are the settings:
Automatic IP
DHCPv6 : On
DHCPPrefixv6 : 64
SSID : input the Wi-Fi network name of your iPhone (for example John's iPhone )
Key : Input the "Wi-Fi password" of the iPhone
Ftp server : 172.20.10.1
Ftp port : 26000
Ftp user: afpsnitch
Ftp code : Your ShutterSnitch password
It is may be the safest way to work nowadays if you don't have an iPhone 12 (using 5ghz hotspot frequencies)
Connecting an ethernet cable (if possible ultra-thin, like the one we provide) between the iPhone and the D4s, D5, D6 makes it possible to transfer photos faster, but also prevents interferences with other Wi-Fi frequencies. It requires a Lightning-to-RJ45 adaptor and an ultra thin short cable.
Prepare your iPhone (like Above)
Setting > Battery > Power saving > off
Setting > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock > never
Disconnect the wifi the iphone could be connected to.
Prepare Shuttersnitch (like Above)
Go to > Options > Settings / Access / FTP port > write 26000 (It sounds weird but it is not 21 ... )
Open a Collection
Prepare your D4s/D5/D6
For D4s/D5/D6 download first this Network Profile file and put the NETSET01.TXT file into an XQD card
input that profile in your camera
Insert this XQD into your camera
Setup Menu > Network ( Wired LAN/WT on the D6 ) > Network connection (Wired LAN/WT functions on the D6) > Enable
> Choose Hardware > Wireless LAN
> Network settings > Copy from-to card > Copy from Card ( "SHUTTERLAN" is downloaded)
Change the password
> Highlight "Shutterlan" > Press " 🔍- " (to edit it) > FTP > Pswd > Write your ShutterSnitch SuperUser Pswd > OK
> Options> Auto Send > Off or On (up to you)
Custom Setting Menu > Timers AE lock > Standby Timer > 30m
Switch OFF/ON your D5/D6 to save the settings
Plug the Ethernet adpator to the iPhone
Plug the ethernet cable to the adaptor and to the camera
On your iPhone
11. Now you need to apply a manual IP address to your ethernet Adaptor : Please watch the following video
Settings > Ethernet > USB 10/100/1000 > Configure IP > Manual
IP address > 192.168.1.1
Subnet mask > 255.255.255.0
Save
First Launch Shuttersnitch and open a collection
In second, switch on the camera and the network
To send a picture press the two usual buttons OK + Central Selector
NOTE
Remember that you have given your adapter a manual IP address. If you ever want to connect your iPhone to internet with this adapter instead of using the Wifi, you will have to re-tick the automatic IP option on the iPhone.
Settings > Ethernet > USB-10-100-1000 > Configure IP > Automatic > Save
Then, if you want to use this adapter again with a D4s/D5/D6,
Repeat this process from step 11.
The Z9 is an expert camera that changes some habits especially during the editing in the viewfinder. So we've put together a bunch of photo settings that we think make sense to start with. Depending on your phone operator, if you receive a phone call while transmitting photos, it may be slowed down to 3G speed. If your operator is equipped with VoLTE technology then the speed will remain the same.
If you are using another application and ShutterSnitch is inactive, the iOS may interrupt the wifi connection between the phone and the camera (after app 3')

Example:
Let's say you cover an event where you're assured that transmissions will be challenging. Here are your life-saving solutions !
3 aspects need to be considered:
- The connection between the camera and the iPhone (Wifi or Cabled)
- The compression of the image
- The cellular network/carrier
Nothing new you say... but the answers are :-)
In this type of event, we believe that the iPhone should be used as a "Super Hotspot": In that configuration, the image file can be recompressed in HEIC to be transferred 5x faster than in jpeg and on top of that the photographer will have the chance to choose the best cellular network.
Let's start:
If you think the wifi between the iPhone and the camera will NOT work, that the frequencies will be jammed (Crowd, secret services, TV Cameras etc...) then use a cable with adapter. Please visit this section of the site then start from step 5 below. This is a 100% reliable solution but allows only one body to be connected (nothing is perfect...)
If you think the wifi between the iPhone and the camera will work, and not be jammed at the last minute then make a wifi hotspot of your iPhone, watch the video and start from step 1 below. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltgk8FiVHoE&t=110s
1: Unlock the iPhone
2: Open control center (slide your finger from top)
3: Touch & Hold the center of the wifi card
4: Tap personal hotspot (When done you have 90 seconds to connect your camera)
5: Launch Shuttersnitch
6: If not done yet: Toggle HEIC in the options of your Channel FTP profile. With this option toggled ON you can shoot Fine* quality archive this quality, and send Normal quality.
Shuttersnitch > Options > Locations > Edit > Your channel FTP > Pre-Process > Toggle Send Images as HEIC
If you want to know what HEIC is : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLYbBbK--s8
7: Open a Collection. Tap the compression icon, choose the compression factor of the file which will be transmitted: 70 or 50
The compression factor is different from jpeg : HEIC 70= Fine jpeg quality // 50= Normal* jpeg quality
8: Switch ON the camera. if it is on the right FTP profile, it will automatically search for the network and connect to the iPhone. If not choose the right profile
From now on
> If you are doing tag'n send, you have to move the ShutterSnitch Actions Slider on the action that sends to your channel automatically then activate the pocket mode of ShutterSnitch. This mode avoids any unintended manipulation and prevents the phone from entering standby mode.
> On your camera just do as usual to select a picture to FTP. Exactly as with a MIFI.
> If you don't do tag'n send and you want to edit/crop/caption your pictures:
You cannot use the pocket mode but the phone must never lock : Have a look here
It is difficult to use another app when transmitting because the iOS shuts Shuttersnitch off quite fast when it is put in background. But it is multi tasks you can edit and send in the same time (just slide down the FTP Tasks window)
> If the camera is switched off to save power, or if a wifi disconnection occurs more than 90" all the process has to be done from step 2 because the iOS hotspot stops broadcastings
> With the HEIC format, only the Caption and Artist Name fields are stored (no need to enter the categories, area, etc... it will not be used).
> If you need a phone call try to use Whatsapp or Signal or Teams. It is only because some carriers' cellular hardware disables the phone's 4G/5G to let voice calls through. But with an eSIM it works fine (Have a look below)
Are you still awake?
The advantages of using the iPhone as a hotspot (even without Shuttersnitch) over the usual MIFI is that you use the latest and greatest cell technology (compare to Mifi) 5G & quality of reception ans also:
You can Buy eSIM (it is also refund by the AFP) to temporarily change carrier network depending on the quality of the connection wherever you work
Please take time to watch the video below.

How to Install an Airalo esim : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UzO_4wV16p4
In case of connection problem with Airalo : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C5aTtLWIqxs
Now you understand what an eSIM is, please do test it and get used to it. Practice using it even when it is not required. It will allow you to fulfill an old news agency photographer's dream, change the carrier network in 5 seconds and choose the fastest one.
If you have any doubts about how to do it, call your technician who will certainly be able to help you with the specificities of each country.
