Call for Papers: International Wealth Conference in Munich, October 9-11 2025
Submit a 1-3 page extended abstract or a full paper by April 28, 2025 (CET)
The first INTERNATIONAL WEALTH CONFERENCE will be hosted by the Munich International Stone Center for Inequality Research in Munich, October 9-11 2025.
This interdisciplinary conference is dedicated to a topic of rising concern in many countries: wealth inequality. The conference brings together a broad set of scholars and disciplines that contribute to our understanding of wealth inequality, its extent and trends, determinants, and consequences. It also seeks to strengthen an international network of junior and established wealth scholars. The focus is on wealth as a separate dimension of inequality, understood as net worth or specific assets (e.g. housing wealth, business ownership, debt). We invite contributions from all disciplinary perspectives and methodological traditions (such as quantitative, qualitative, experimental or comparative-historical). Papers may address descriptive questions on wealth inequality, analyze the determinants of wealth inequality or study its various social, economic and political consequences.
The conference will feature two keynote speakers (Annette Lareau and Lane Kenworthy), a conference dinner, networking opportunities, and an optional field trip. More information here: https://www.lmu.de/isi/en/latest-news-and-events/news-overview/news/call-for-papers-isi-wealth-conference-2025.html

CfP: Effects of Spatial mobility on Subjective Well-being
Special Issue in Social Indicators Research
Organisers: Nicolai Netz (DZWH) and Nico Stawarz (BiB)
Spatial mobility is an integral part of individual lives. Therefore, previous research has explored the manifold consequences of spatial mobility for individual life courses. In doing so, it has focussed on outcomes such as the occupational position and wages. However, as human behaviour usually aims to improve quality of life in a broader sense, we advocate a stronger focus on subjective well-being in research on spatial mobility. Accordingly, the special issue aims to provide an overview of the current state of research on how spatial mobility influences subjective well-being. It showcases new theoretical avenues, methodological designs, and empirical analyses of the effects of spatial mobility on subjective well-being. Focussing on different forms of spatial mobility (e.g., internal and international migration, commuting, and virtual mobility).
