MBA Program

All departments have held one or more meetings and have sketched plans/visions for the future; but the final report is not complete, and further meetings are being held. I have asked all of them to post interim reports on the blog.

Dr. Usman Mustafa is requested to form a committee of local experts in business education to chalk

out a five year vision for the MBA program. We cannot compete with conventional MBA’s on their

home grounds, since we do not have the appropriate type of faculty. We must capture a niche

market, and produce a specialized product building on our own comparative advantage. The idea

of focussing on business economics has been suggested. We could also go for a heavily quantitative

MBA, teaching our graduates substantially more sophisticated data analysis techniques than others.

There are other ideas which could be useful as well, to provide us with distinguished program, rather

than a mediocre one.
