These happen to be Doug's favorite cookie. They are hearty and chunky and even the raisins won't stop a teenager from eating them.
INGREDIENTS
Cream together:
1/2 cup softened butter
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
Add:
1/2 cups apple butter (you can make this by cooking applesauce down, very slowly)
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
Now stir in:
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup rolled oats (not instant)
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Last:
1 to 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts
3/4 cup raisins
Refrigerate until firm. Scoop up by tablespoons onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 13-15 minutes.
