Comorbidities

While most patients in our ICU are being treated primarily for Parvo, many come into our program with additional diseases. It's imperative to follow protocols instated to prevent spread of these diseases. Remember, chances of survival decrease dramatically when the patient has multiple illnesses. The following are the most common additional diseases seen in our Parvo ICU:

1. Upper Respiratory Infection

2. Distemper

3. Mange

4. Ringworm

5. Fleas & Ticks

6. Intestinal Parasites (Worms)

In the cases of many of these diseases, the Isolation Protocol should be followed.
