Laundry Protocol

Before placing in Washer

• Shake out all of the laundry over an empty laundry basket or on the floor to remove all feces/food.

• Use toilet paper and pick up any feces. Flush down the toilet

• Sweep up other debris and place it in the trash can. 

In the Washer

• Load 10-15 items (depending on size) into the washer

• Pour ½ cup laundry detergent and ¼ cup of bleach ino the corresponding compartments

• Run Washer on “Heavy Duty” setting.

• Clean out the rubber seal of the washer before running another load

In the Dryer

• *Ensure you are wearing clean scrubs or a clean gown when handling clean laundry*

• Transport the items from Washer to dryer

• *Crocs, sandals, and other shoes only go into the washer and never the dryer*

• Collect the lint in the Lint Trap before starting the dryer

• Run Dryer on “Heavy Duty/ Towel” setting

After taking out of Dryer

• *Ensure you are wearing clean scrubs or a clean gown when handling clean laundry*

• Transport items onto the folding table

• Fold and place all the items in the appropriate location 

Laundry Bin Maintenance

• Use toilet paper and pick up any feces. Flush down the toilet

• Sweep up other debris and place it in the trash can. 

• Wipe down with trifectant or bleach

• Rotate laundry bins so that oldest laundry is used first
