Jennifer and Scott live near Sacramento in Woodland where they have three little children. One day Jennifer went to work and left Scott at home. She mentioned to Scott that four year old Kelsey had been making up lies. Scott was given instructions to help curb Kelsey's lying habit. Later in the morning Scott caught her fibbing and took her aside. He said, "You know, you go to Sunday school and you've learned about the Ten Commandments. One of the commandments says you should never tell a lie."
He elaborated on how a child should follow commandments made by the parents. Kelsey said, "I know about the Ten Commandments. But I have my own list."
"Yes, but whose list do you follow?"
She said, "My list."
Then Kelsey found some paper, used crayons, scribbled all over the paper, and hung the paper up on the wall. She said, "Here are my rules."
Scott asked, "What does your list say?"
"It says I can do anything I want!"
Scott said, "Whose list do you think you should follow? Yours or God's list?"
"My own list, of course."
