Pack 89 Families:
I heard that Swim Call was a real splash! Sorry I missed it, but if the reports are accurate it was a good time---glad that the judges were such good sports! Well before you know it we will be back in the swing of things with our new year of Cub Scouting, but first we have some Summer fun left!
1. Webelos Resident Camp! (30 July - 3 Aug) – NEW INFO! This weekend! I have sent out a few e-mails to the attending Webelos families directly. If you have not received them, please let me know ASAP! Bottom line, get packed, get your med forms completed and be ready with both to load this Saturday at 6 p.m. You will all meet on Sunday at 7:30 a.m. for final loading and departure.
2. Pack Olympics! (19 August) – NEW INFO! The United Methodist Men of Beech Grove are lining up an assortment of ridiculously challenging games (mostly ridiculous though) for you to compete in this August. Come out to Beech Grove on Saturday, Aug 19th from 9 to 11:30 ish for a morning of silly fun and goofy games. This will be our last big Pack summertime event and we’d love to see you. Have a friend interested in joining? Bring him along – this will be a great opportunity for them to see how much fun our boys are. Please RSVP (with the total number of family members/friends attending) if you can make it so we can determine if we need additional stations and staff. Thanks in advance. Oh, and please let us know if you can’t make it – that really helps with planning too. There will be food at the end as well. Thanks UMM of Beech Grove!
3. Kick Off Picnic! (5 September) – NEW INFO! Summer’s over and school’s back in session. Where did the time go? Let us help you cope by coming out to re-unite with old scout friends, share a meal, and have some more splashing fun for everyone in the family. We’ll meet at Beech Grove at 6:30 p.m. for a simple hotdog cookout and catch up. Remember to have the kids (the whole family is invited) wear their swimsuits for the traditional sponge battle. You can wear yours too if you want to get soaked. Bring towels ‘cause you WILL get soaked… You’ll also want a folding chair since outdoor seating is limited. Hey, why not bring a friend who’s interested in cub scouts too!
We’ll supply the hot dogs and chips, Kool-Aid and water. We ask that you bring an equally traditional summertime side dish, fruit, or dessert to share. If you’d like soda for your family, feel free to bring it. All we ask is quick RSVP to this e-mail with the number of your family members attending so we can get enough dogs!
As a side note: negative replies are welcome here too if you can’t make it.
4. Popcorn! (Very Soon) NEW INFO! Our Kernel has been hard at work already going to meetings and ordering our initial stock of popcorn for the only fundraiser we do all year. She’ll have lots of new info for us soon about the effort and how it benefits all of us in scouting.
