Stan Crooks No. 20, 20b, 9, 19, 21

Stan was from Letts, Iowa and I was in the same class at school with one of his daughter's named Pam!

Below is the car I remember Stan winning some races in. It was good old 20b! And a Buick. I think Harlan Jackson owned this car. It was a flyer.

Stan as I remember him most...he became no 20b because there was another number 20. I think that is a Buick car, because of the front fender. Notice the big crowd in the grandstand

behind the car!

Photo below sent to my by Gale Reed. Great action shot from 1967

I think that is no 00 Bobby Inglehart in the old Buick Special behind Stan's no 20.

Thanks to Patti Baker Howard for sharing this photo of Stan and his youngest son Howie. Stan had won the trophy dash.

Stan drove for several years for Phillips Brothers Dodge and later Phillips Brothers Rental in Muscatine. The cars were of course Dodges! Before that I think he had his own cars. Stan at one time was the fastest man in a stock car on dirt in the world when he set a track record at Oskaloosa Iowa in a Dodge hemi! Stan won races from time to time and was always in the running to win.

This is Stan and his car, possibly 1973

Dan Robertson said this car above was built by Dyno Don McCleary. It is a 66 or 67 Ford Fairlaine.

Thanks to Gale Reed for the photos!

Photo below shared by Randy Sell on facebook this is spring 1971

Below shared by John Lafrenz taken at Columbus Junction.

Thanks to Gale Reed for this fine photo below of Stan in his own car. Stan was from my home town of Letts, Iowa and one of my classmates Pam Crooks was one of Stan's daughters.! Stan is now passed away. I think this photo was taken in 1963 in Columbus Junction.

I think the photo below is another of Stan's cars also. It says number 19 on it when you look close.

Working on Stan's Jalopy in the early 1960s....

Here is a couple of photos of Stan racing in later years.
