Johnny Moss No. 1, No. 111, No. 8

Johnny was a big man in size.  He was always in the running to win a race and won many a feature!   I remember him driving his convertible with a scarf around his face.  His Chevy motor wound up high RPMS.   It was loud ..especially when the zoomies came out through the hood of the car.     Some of the photos will get bigger if you click on them.

Johnny Moss of Iowa City won the 25-lap late model feature at the Iowa State Fair

on Sunday afternoon, August 30, 1970. Moss had to have his victory lane photo

taken with him sitting in his car because he had ripped the seat of his pants

 out during the race.

Above photo shared by Scott Berlin on facebook.

The race many remember, lap after lap Mosier and Moss front bumper next to front bumper!
