Johnny Moss had an injury (Broke arm maybe) and Bill finished out the season driving Johnny's car and won the Championship!

Bill won races too.  He was from Burlington, Iowa.  We cheered for him many times.

If I remember correctly the 11 car above was orange and

small block Chevy power..

Thanks to Gale Reed for this photo above.  1967 photo.

Screenshots below are from a Mark Kleindolph movie he shared

Above screen shots from a Mark Kleindolph video of Bill spinning and recovering at West Liberty

You can see on the pick below which facebook group this came from!

Bill also drove this car (below) for car owner Tom Harris.  This car was later sold to the Coleburg family

in Muscatine

Below is another Gale Reed collection photo...Bill Newman's 1971 car this time number 22!

Below John Lafrenz share on facebook at West Liberty

Ed Thomas shared this photo on facebook and thought it might of been Bill Newman

Below an older photo...here is Bill from a few years before I think.

Darrell Kraft tells us about the car above-- "Bill Baldwins Buick- don't know this driver

but was later driven by Jack Brissey and then Bill Newman."

Bill drove this car below for one year.  It was Bobby Inglebright's car in 1966. Bill drove this car in 1967 I think.

It was a fast jalopy but with the new 1957 cars he raced against it was not fast enough. I wonder if the

marks to the right of the 00 are marks for feature wins this car had?

In 1964 Bill Newman Drove No. 40.  I wonder if this is his car below.

Ron and Delores Jackson thought that this car below was maybe driven by Bill Newman

and it was owned by Harold Norton's Car.

Bill became a flagman at West Liberty see below.

Gale Reed (right) presenting the trophy to Tony Stewart after a win at

West Liberty, Iowa in the late 80's. The flagman is former driver Bill

Newman.

Also Bill Newman was flagman at 34 Raceway in Burlington until retiring a few years ago!!.
