Mosier Wins Jalopy Main Again Reilly Finishes as Point Champ

Mark Mosier Washington continued his out standing late season surge here Sunday by narrowly beating Johnny Moss of Iowa City in the final jalopy racing feature event on the 1962 schedule,

Mosier came from a couple of car lengths back on the final lap to nip Moss by almost one car length.   The win was Mosier's fourth in a row and seventh in the last eight races.

Bruce Reilly of Lone Tree, the Mississippi Valley Speedway Clubs individual driver point champ finished third in car Circle 1.   John Mullink of West Liberty was fourth and Chuck Smith of Kalona fifth.  The final races were marred by one sensational accident on the south turn which resulted in the hospitalization of Bob Smith of Burlington.   Smith was reported in good condition at

University hospitals Iowa City today where he is being treated for a fractured collar bone and hand lacerations.
