Guiding Questions
- Based on your knowledge of dating and the 1950s, explain what "mistakes" Holden made on his date with Sally Hayes?
- Also, and more importantly, how does Holden's behavior on his date reflect his struggles at this point in his life?
Develop a Skit or Conversation With Holden and One Other Person.
A) Present Holden's point of view on the date
B) Present a response by a person who has talked to Sally Hayes and has a few things to tell Holden. This person may be one of the following people:
1) Phoebe

In your skits you should include the following:
- Start with a setting and an activity for your characters (waiting for a bus, at a store, etc...)
- Present details from the novel that help illustrate the conflicts
- Present details from Holden's date with Sally Hayes
- Remember, this is the 1950s
