Clean Up
In this assignment, you will do individual and group clean up to put the classroom back in order for next school year.
Individual (All Students):
Student File
Take your work off the walls of the classroom and remove your student file
Once done with your portfolio, your papers go home or recycling
Folders, nametags, and plastic tags get organized back in the classroom
Journal
Reusable cover pages get organized into piles for future use
Your papers go home or recycling
Personal binders go home or get donated to class, loaned binders stay here
Plants
Seedlings you planted go home, large plants stay (name tags off)
Projects for Anyone:
Remove tape, wash out all water cups, and set them on towels to dry
Organize markers (mix of colors in each yogurt container)
Plant re-potting and cleaning up
Clean up shelves, sinks, counters, and corners
Clean out files and journals for absent students
Re-distribute classroom lost and found
Take out recycling and trash
Erase small whiteboards and sheet protectors
Carefully take down and organize student work and posters
Birds down
Take down DNA sculpture (paper clips in bag, peanuts in recycling)
Stack chairs and lay tables on their sides
Carry out potted plants and soil
Past projects:
Take down and distribute (or recycle) nametags
Carefully take down and organize student work and posters
Essential Outcomes carefully taken down and tape removed
Clean Up Extension 1: Student Work Samples
Find, scan, and organize exemplary work from students for each of the following:
At least two samples from each of our 10 essential outcomes
A complete and thorough journal for each of our 4 units
At least four completely filled-in journal cover pages showing growth in all 10 essential outcomes and overall scores.
At least two samples of assignments done since Spring Break that show growth or mastery
Clean Up Extension 2: Classroom Supplies
Inventory and organize classroom supplies including the following:
Binders for journals
Hanging files and file folders
Art supply boxes
Plant supplies
Clean Up Extension 3: Classroom Walls
Take down, clean and organize materials on classroom walls including the following:
Student work samples
Essential outcomes and student data
Whiteboards
Cabinets
