Group expectations are guidelines we all follow to make sure things run smoothly. Group expectations give everyone a fair chance to learn. We will create group expectations.
Part 1: Review Past Expectations
Look over the Past Group Expectation Samples, that were provided by past students and teachers.
Respond to the following questions.
What themes or trends do you notice?
Why do you think these themes/trends are important?
For our group, what themes/trends do you think would be most important?
Part 2: Create Expectations
With your small group, brainstorm expectations you think we should have and write all of them on a whiteboard.
In your small group, discuss the expectations, and circle the ones you all agree should be included.
Share out the expectations with the full class, and the teachers will consolidate these into one large group expectation document.
