Reflections on the two weeks observing Guide teacher
During the first two weeks of my professional practice in the Liceo Yobilo, I observed the classes of my guide teacher, Miss Veronica Moscoso. She teaches in the 11th and 12th grades of the Liceo. Although, I only watched her classes with 11th grade A and 12th grade A. The first thing that I noticed in both courses is that the students are really motivated to learn English. The students and the teacher have a good relationship, friendly but respectful with each other. I liked how they interacted during the class because there were no uncomfortable silences and the flow of the lesson was normal. It made me think that I can also begin a relationship like that with my future students and create a pleasant learning environment. It took my attention as well that my guide teacher did most of the class in Spanish. She told me that is better to do it that way because we have to make sure that all the students understand what we are talking about.
Overall reflection on the TP
If I had to summarize my whole teaching practice process in one word, I would say ''helpful''. I believe that having practice since the first year of my career is one of the best attributes of English Pedagogy at San Sebastian University. I have been exposed to the teaching environment from day one, and it has helped me to become more comfortable with the real-life classroom. I'm now in my professional practice, and I'm very confident about my abilities as a student-teacher as I've been working with real students and schools for years. I have seen an improvement in myself since my first teaching experience and the last one. I think that I'm more prepared. I know how to plan and organize my lessons, and overall, I feel like an actual English teacher. I used to get really nervous before my classes but now is not the case. Due to all my teaching practices, I'm sure that I want to become a teacher, and they've been helpful with finding my own way of teaching. I'm thankful for all the experiences that these opportunities of working in schools have given to me and I'll always remember them.
