Importance of using an instrument or technique to identify learner's need:
It's very important to get to know your students and their necessities, especially during this time of uncertainty. Students had to go to school in their own homes and overcome their learning difficulties by themselves. That's why I, as a student teacher, had to look for techniques to identify the student's needs. One of those techniques was to create a class that could relate to the students and what they like. Investigate their hobbies or what's on-trend right now for teenagers (which was the age group of my students) and create a safe space where they could just be themselves. Another technique that I tried to use was to make the class more dynamic by watching videos. I tried to use as many skills as possible. Besides, I let the students share what they thought about the lesson's topic by using the tool that they were more comfortable about, could it be the microphone or the chat.
The main instrument that I used to create the classes was the government website: https://www.mime.mineduc.cl/. I found almost all the contents that I needed there.
