2.1 ROLE OF A PRE- SERVICE TEACHER

COVER LETTER

My name is Magdalena Paz Acuña Vargas. I am twenty years old and I am from Chillan, but I have been living in Concepcion on my own since 2017.

I have been studying English Pedagogy at San Sebastian University since 2018 and nowadays I am having my Teaching Practice 2 at The Pacific School in Chiguayante. We are supposed to take notes and learn from our guide teacher, we also have to prepare activities and worksheets for the class that we are watching. In general, it has been a good experience. The class that I have is a 4to medio. Overall they are all good kids, this is their last year of school and they are preparing themselves for university. They have an appropriate level of English and great energy during class, I appreciate that a lot because is easier to work with them. My guide teacher knows a lot and he has been giving me advice about my future interventions.

For the future I truly believe that with more interventions and practice I will be able to teach in a proper way, to express myself better so students can understand and fully enjoy the class. I still feel nervous in front of people, especially students that expect the best from me, but I am trying my best.
