We mixed yellow and red and...orange appeared! I never thought I would have ever considered it a nice colour. Anyway, I actually know the subject of this painting! Do not ask me how I managed to understand it, it's a long story. You need nearly three years of living with this extraordinary child to "know how". I feel like I'm a privileged mother, having a son who allows me to refine my mothering abilities to this extent. The astonishing fact about this painting is actually the title. Emanuele painted FIRE. I must say up to this point you don't need a lot of imagination. There's nothing seems so special about it. When I asked him where he saw the fire, suggesting that it was during the past charismatic convention we went to, he said " No, I saw it in the kitchen". Then, with his hand, tortured by movements he didn't intend to make, he pointed to the cooker. At that moment I replied that cooker fire is "blue" and not orange-white and so on. But he said it's like that when they first light up. I tried and watched: it's true. Believe it or not, now I cannot stop turning on the cooker to watch that orange spark that Emanuele painted! In a flash captured in its finest details by the eye of a human being used to living in little more than a room. How interesting the world becomes if you can watch it from the inside and how rich the inside of a man becomes, if he cannot use his outside!
