The Apple Jacks played three games, 55 minutes each. Opponents were the Olmsted County Roosters, the Arlington Greys, and the host Mankato Baltics. Roosters 9, Apple Jacks 6 Baltics 17, Apple Jacks 1 Greys 19, Apple Jacks 6Steve Whitey Geronime, pictured left, was the Jacks captain for the day, filling in for Bill Ho-hum Ohm. Whitey scored the Jacks' only ace against the Baltics. The Jacks came to life early against the Greys scoring five runs in one inning, but the defense wilted as the game progressed.The temperature climbed into the 90s as the spectators took cover under tents. The umpires were lenient with the players, allowing shirts to be loose and sleeves rolled up.

Joel Hefty Affeldt, the Jacks' new power hitter, needed his colored spectacles to face the sun during Saturday's matches. One of his hits in the game against the Roosters scored the third ace.The Olmsted County Roosters, celebrating their 15th anniversary, graciously provided the team with a commemorative base ball.
