Review Of The Diary of an Indian School Girl Vol. 1 & 2 By Nandini Nayar

I was sceptical about a book that was basically a series of diary entries made by a little girl. And I must admit it was a little awkward to begin with. But I am so glad I stuck with it, because not only did the book get better after the first few pages, but the next one was even better with the third one being the best in the series.

Nandini Nayar beautifully weaves an engaging story in to the diary entries, which deal with the genuine concerns of a good natured, fat misfit. Initially bogged down by teasing or jealousy, in each story, Apoorva learns something new that helps her find a way out of her troubles. What I liked about the series is, Apoorva's courage in accepting her mistakes and her readiness to improve herself.

As many of you may know, I have recently started reviewing books for PlusMinus'n'More, a review site for books by Indian authors. If your looking for books by Indian authors, check it out. I was thrilled to see that they had reviewed a couple of books from the Tania Series too.
