Starfruit had numerous medicinal uses. Various preparations of the fruit, its juice, leaves, bark, flowers, inner bark, root and seeds have been used to treat various ailments including: hemorrhage, fever, eye afflictions, eczema, vomiting, headache, chicken pox, ringworm, dermatitis, asthma and colic.
It has also been used as a diuretic, vermifuge, galactagogue and emmenagogue.Â
